Wildcats pick up 15-12 win in extra innings

The Ellerbe Middle School baseball team traveled to Spring Hill Middle in Wagram on Monday and picked up a 15-12 extra inning win.  Adam Webb picked up the win on the mound for the Wildcats, pitching the final 2 1/3 innings of relief.

Webb also led the Wildcats at the plate, going 3-6 with 3 doubles.  Other Wildcats collecting hits were Kyle Goodwin, Garrett Richardson, Zac Mabe, Logan Moore, and Skylar Standridge. The Wildcats record now stands at 3-1, with the earlier loss to Sycamore Lane being declared a forfeit win due to an eligibility issue.

EllerbeThe Lady Wildcats softball team dropped their game to Spring Hill 16-5.  The girls are now 1-3 on the season.

Both teams host Sandy Grove Middle School Thursday at Ellerbe at 4 p.m.

The EMS boys soccer team is still undefeated with a record of 2-0-2.  The boys had 2 ties last week, tying Carver 3-3 and West Hoke 1-1.  Goals against Carver were Stefano Cerna 2 and Jose Fonseca 1.  Cerna scored the lone goal against West Hoke.

The EMS girls team defeated Carver 1-0 on a goal by Hailey Butler, and lost to West Hoke 2-1.  Butler scored that goal as well.  The girls soccer team is 1-3.

Both soccer teams travel to Sandy Grove Middle on Tuesday.
