Weekend schedule at the Dragway is a ‘go’

DragwayROCKINGHAM — The 2nd annual Jr Dragster Spring Nationals is on as scheduled this weekend at Rockingham Dragway.

The weather forecast has improved dramatically for Sunday so the original published schedule will be followed.

The gates open today at 3 p.m. for test and tune runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Saturday the racer gate will open at 8 a.m. with time trials at 9:30 a.m., eliminations will follow after two time run sessions and qualifying for the 330 advanced class.

Sunday’s schedule includes church service at 9 a.m., followed by one-time run for new entries with first round of eliminations at 10 a.m.

Saturday  and Sunday races will include Bracket One paying $1,500 to win, Bracket Two (ages 11 and younger) pays $500 to win each day, Pro Dragster (7.90 Index) will award $500 per day to  the winner.

The 330 Advanced class, contested on Saturday, will pay $500 to win.
