Obituary: Jack Biggs

Bruce Jackson “Jack”  Biggs, 78, of Rockingham, N.C., passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at his home.

Jack was born May 20, 1937 in Richmond County, a son of the late James Oscar and Carrie Cain Biggs.

He had served his country in the U.S. Air Force and had retired from Richmond Yarns.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rebecca Chavis Biggs, grandson, Jason Burgess, siblings, Jimmy and Annie Ruth, step mother Helen, and step siblings, Thurman, James, Gary, Mitchell, Peggy and Helen.

flagSurviving are his children, Teri Duncan (Joe) of Rockingham, Lisa Fore (Richard) of Maxton; grandchildren, Brian Burgess, Brandon Adams; six great-grandchildren; sister, Cherrie Covington (Bill) of Conover and step siblings, Michael Boone, Rex Boone, Lisa Hatcher and Sharon Mauldin, all of Rockingham.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Abundant Life Church with Rev. Joe Wilkes officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Wallace, S.C.

The family will see friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home.

Carter Funeral Home of Rockingham is assisting the Biggs family.
