As a life-long resident of Rockingham, Mr. Coleman earned the love and respect of all who knew him.  As the owner of Robert’s Automotive for over 50 years, everyone knew whom to look to for automotive help and advice, and he always looked forward to visiting with a friend who might drop by the station.  Rockingham has lost a pillar of the community and he will be greatly missed.

Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Smith Coleman; three daughters, Stephanie Coleman Davis of Greenville, S.C., Cindy Coleman Terry (Allen) of Ellerbe, and Tara Coleman Crowley (Mingo) of Hamlet; seven grandchildren, Caroline Davis, Griffin Davis, Lydia Davis, Matthew Farrah, Olivia Farrah, Camrey Crowley, and Tristan Crowley; and a brother, Don Coleman (Toni) of Hickory. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Coleman, and a half-sister, Gwen Leary.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Coleman will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28 at First Presbyterian Church, 904 Fayetteville Road in Rockingham with Rev. Dwight H. Williams officiating. The family will have visitation to see friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
