MOUNT SAVAGE — David Warder threw his best at the Mile Lane Disc Golf Course since setting the course record six weeks ago, leading the field of six players in Week 7 of the Saturday Morning Tag League in Mount Savage.

After a solid drive from the No. 11 long tee put him in place for a birdie, Noah Spradlin’s disc bounced off the back. He settled for par.
Warder, 31, of Frostburg, finished with a 14 under par 61, two strokes ahead of league director Scott Mallery, 54, of Mount Savage (63). Seth Wilson, 28, of Cresaptown, took third by tying his best score on the 24-hole “tournament” layout at the private course in his five weeks of SMTL competition.
Colby Mallery, 19, of Mount Savage, finished one stroke behind Wilson for fourth — and six strokes behind behind the 65 he’s scored in SMTL weeks 1, 4 and 6. Kevin Spradlin, 43, of Frostburg, placed fifth (78) while Noah Spradlin, 23, of Frostburg, earned a sixth-place finish with an 87. It was the younger Spradlin’s first time playing on the 24-hole layout, completing it at the end of his third month of playing disc golf.
Only three more weeks of SMTL action remains — Sept. 10, Sept. 24 and Oct. 22. Tee time is 10 a.m. each Saturday.
