LAVALE — Two games. Twelve innings. One hit.
Three defensive miscues didn’t help Frostburg’s cause much, either.
It’s not much of a surprise that the Boogeymen dropped their second straight game in a 7-0 loss to the LaVale Legends on Thursday night at Ort Field.
Yes, Frostburg had a couple of base-running blunders. Sure, Legends fielders stood in between the Boogeymen baserunners and the bag on at least five occasions. Certainly, the umpire had a liberal, down-to-the-ankle strike zone.
And yet, those were not the reasons the Boogeymen lost.
Legends starter Josiah Dudiak tossed four innings of one-hit ball, striking out eight, and LaVale rode a five-run first inning to victory.
Bex Litton had the lone hit for the Boogeymen (0-2), a leadoff single in the top of the first.
Offensively for the Legends, Dudiak had two hits and scored a run.
The Boogeymen (0-2) return to Frostburg Community Park on May 2 for the team’s first home game of the season against Westernport. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
