Brothers charged in shooting death of teen

Greensboro_PD_logoGREENSBORO — Alejandro Villegas 19, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Matthew Jurado, 17.

Villegas’ brother, a minor, also has been charged in connection with this case. Villegas is being held on $100,000 bond.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:40 a.m. on April 15 at 1316 Maple St. on April 15. The property is owned by James Hinson, the deputy chief of the Greensboro Police Department. Hinson owns the property as a rental property.

“It is an unfortunate event” said Hinson. “We have a family that is dealing with a tremendous (loss) right now. We should keep the mother and the family in our prayers.”

The circumstances of the case are still under investigation.
