BITTINGER — Five young men with the Bittinger Volunteer Fire Department in northeastern Garrett County have earned continuing education credit.

Dan Warnick, Tom Diehl, Darrin Yoder and Justin Orendorf successfully completed the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute’s pumping apparatus operator course.

In addition, Yoder, Orendorf and Ryan Yoder are now certified emergency vehicle operators.

The Bittinger Volunteer Fire Deparment is scheduled to host two MFRI courses, Site Operations and Vehicle/Machinery Rescue, in April and May. There is a minimum level of participation required before these classes are a “go.”

Firefighters are encouraged to contact their station chief for more information.
