Steele takes helm of Legion District 16

Robert L. Steele Sr., left, of American Legion Post 147, Rockingham, was sworn in Saturday at the American Legion Department of North Carolina 2015 Convention at the North Raleigh Hilton in Raleigh as the new District 16 Commander.

He will represent Richmond, Hoke and Moore counties.

Pictured with Steele, left, is Richard W. Neville, Legion national vice commander, southeast, right, recently congratulated Steele on his appointment with a certificate of appreciation for his service to the veterans advocacy organization.
