ELLERBE — Doug Dawkins briefed the field of the 21st annual Bethel Hill Moonlight Boogie 50-mil er on Saturday just before the 6 p.m. start and summed up, as he typically does, what runners could expect.

It is, Dawkins said, “a typical night for Boogie.”

“I wouldn’t be looking for my 50-mile PR,” Dawkins warned of anyone seeking a personal best, or record. If you don’t finish, maybe you’ll want to come back. If you do finish, you might want to walk away.”
