Mr. Simon Smith, 92, of 131 Perry Leviner Road, Rockingham, N.C., died Monday, June 1, 2015 at Morrison Manor Hospice in Laurinburg.
He was born June 8, 1922, in Richmond County, son of Calvin Smith and Ellen Grice Smith.
Mr. Smith was a veteran of U.S. Army Rangers during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Coward Smith.
Survivors include his three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m .to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with the funeral to begin at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
At other times the family will receive friends at home of his Grandson, Ron Quick, 202 Walnut Street in Hamlet.
