Obituary: Billy Wilkerson

Billy Wayne Wilkerson, 66, of Rockingham, N.C., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Wilkerson was born February 19, 1949 in Richmond County, the son of the late Norry Monroe Wilkerson and Bessie Ann Eubanks Lisk.

He had served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and had retired from the North Carolina Army Reserve National Guard as well as the trucking industry. He was also a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Julene Wilkerson and Lois Macon.

Surviving are his wife, Karen McInnis Wilkerson of the home; children, Alan Wilkerson (Rhonda) of Hartsville, S.C., Ann Hawks (Evan) of Ellerbe and grandchildren, Parker Wilkerson, Lakyn Wilkerson and Cameron Hawks.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Eastside Cemetery with Rev. Tim Hawks and Rev. Sonny Diggs officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the North Carolina Army Reserve National Guard Honor Guard.

The family will see friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home.
