Chamber to host Hoptoberfest in October

The Richmond County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce a new event for Richmond County and the region.

Hoptoberfest will take place on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Richmond Plaza Shopping Center in Rockingham in partnership with chamber member Tri-City Inc. and will provide guests with an opportunity to try many different types of North Carolina craft beers at one location.

We established a steering committee that was headed up by board member Rodger Moore of K2 Solutions and they are now ready to announce this event to the public,” said Brian Baucom, 2015 board chairman.

The event will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance if purchased before Sept. 25 and $35 beginning Sept. 26.

“Due to the popularity of this type of event, the chamber urges advance ticket purchases as we anticipate a sell-out,” said Emily Tucker, chamber president. Confirmed participants so far include: Southern Pines Brewery, Railhouse Brewery, Mash House Brewery, Dirtbag Ales, Aviator and Cypress Bend Vineyards.

Hoptoberfest will feature:

  • North Carolina craft beers and wineries from around the state to an audience of locals and regional visitors alike in an atmosphere of excitement and fun.
  • Great music will be provided at the event by the Tim Clark Band.
  • Wing contest sponsored by Perdue Farms

A limited number of tickets will be available due to it being the first year. It is expected to attract close to 500 attendees from around the state in its first year and is already expected to sell out based on the rumor mill and pre-sells! Proceeds from Hoptoberfest support the Richmond County Chamber’s initiatives.

For more information or to purchase tickets for the event, please visit the event website at or contact the chamber directly. Sponsorships are also available by calling the chamber at 910-895-9058.
