WASHINGTON D.C. — A 7-year-old from Roberdel became famous — sort of — on Friday when Thom Tillis, the junior Republican U.S. senator, shared a photo on Twitter of him and the young man.

Parker Medlin is a home-schooled student and a former honorary page in the North Carolina General Assembly. His family recently took a vacation to Washington D.C. and Tillis had a moment to meet with Parker.

“I was honored to welcome a former honorary N.C. State House page to Washington this week,” Tillis shared on his Facebook page. “Great to see you again, Parker!”

Parker was excited to meet the man he calls “my buddy.”
