Obituary: Reginald Ayer

Mr. Reginald Eugene Ayer, 79, of 548 Cheraw Road, Hamlet, N.C., died Friday, May 1, 2015 at Hospice Haven.

He was born November 27, 1935, in Hubbardston, Mass., son of Theodore Ayer and Ella Carpenter Hogburg.

flagMr. Ayer was a member of Highland Pines Free Will Baptist Church, worked for Burlington Industries for 35 years, and was a veteran of U.S. Army, spending four years in Korea. He also was a member of American Legion and VFW.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Wade Ayer of the home; daughters, Karen A. Flowers of Fayetteville and Judy Ayer of Rockingham; son, Michael Ayer of Rockingham; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home, Sunday, May 3 with the funeral to begin at 3 p.m. in the chapel. Rev. Don Kivett will be officiating and burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.

Harrington Funeral home and Crematory is serving the Ayer family.
