Cordova VFD to conduct hydrant testing

CordovaCORDOVA — Members of the Cordova Volunteer Fire Department are scheduled to begin hydrant testing on Saturday, May 16.

These efforts could cause local water customers’ water to turn brown.

“It should clear up by Sunday,” said deputy chief Jeremy Chance in an announcement on the department’s Facebook page.

Chance said anyone with questions should call the fire department at 910-895-9713.

Rockingham did their hydrant testing about a month ago. We were not made aware of it, and when I washed my clothes they turned brown. It would be nice if we had been given a heads up before the it was done so we would have been able to prepare for it.
