ROCKINGHAM — The law caught up with a 19-year-old Rockingham man on Tuesday.

Malik Devon Johnson, 19, of Collins Church Road, was arrested by Richmond County sheriff’s deputies. Johnson was wanted in connection for his alleged role in the alleged robbery and kidnapping incident in East Rockingham. The alleged incident was reported at approximately 12:31 a.m. Monday.

Johnson was ordered held on $100,000 secured bond and confined to the Richmond County Jail. Both he and Richard Evans, 17, of Midway Road, have been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, second-degree kidnapping and assault by pointing a gun. Johnson also has been charged with possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana after authorities executed a search warrant at his residence.
