Obituary: Rev. Royce Lee Honeycutt

Rev. Royce Lee Honeycutt, 74, of 226 S. Church St., Rockingham, N.C., went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

He was born March 14, 1941 in Johnston County, NC, son of Watt and Honore Craft Honeycutt.

Preacher Royce was Associate Pastor at East Rockingham Free Will Baptist Church. He loved his Lord and over the years had led many souls to Christ. His loving, caring personality and great sense of humor made him loved by all who met him. Fishing was his favorite pastime, other than being with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lois Webster Honeycutt; daughters, Linda Honeycutt of Hamlet, Priscilla Chavis & husband Paul of Hamlet and Frances Honeycutt of Rockingham; brothers, Bobby, Billy, & Larry Honeycutt all of Rockingham, Junior Honeycutt of Hamlet and Don Honeycutt of New Jersey; sisters, Joyce Krider, his twin, of Hamlet & Pat Pressley of Rockingham; four grandchildren, Gerald Huckabee Jr. of Rockingham, Catherine Locklear and husband Mike of Hamlet, Christopher Huckabee and wife Jamie of Hamlet and Rebecca Bouldin and husband Butch of Rockingham; four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Katie, Brianna and Dannica; and his church family.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 1 at East Rockingham Free Will Baptist Church.

The Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. at the church on Saturday, May 2 with Rev. Johnny Johnson and Rev. Frank McQuage officiating. Burial will follow at McDonald Cemetery, Old Wire Road, Laurel Hill.
