Raider Band Fans staging benefit gospel concert

HAMLET — The Raider Band Fans boosters club is staging a Southern Gospel concert on Saturday, April 18 to benefit the Richmond Senior Marching Raiders.

The event will start at 6 p.m. at Kings Gate Church, located off Highway Business 74 on Sierra Avenue.

band1Randy Stubbs, of the Raider Band Fans, said admission to the concert is free.

“There will be a love offering taken that night,” Stubbs said. “People can also make donations as well.”

The concert features Adoration Quartet, along with 2nd Chance Ministries from Florence, S.C., and The Hometown Quartet from Laurinburg. Rockingham’s own Bob Smith will open the concert.

“I know it’s going to be a great night of Southern Gospel music,” Stubbs said.

Rockingham native Corey Wilson, of Adoration Quartet, was an early supporter of the planned concert, Stubbs said.

“He said it would be an honor for his group to be a part of this event,” Stubbs said.
