FAYETTEVILLE — The Pee Dee Power faced incredible odds. And members of the squad then laughed at those odds.
The 8-and-under baseball team rallied from an 11-4 deficit to Fuquay-Varina to win 21-11 in the silver bracket championship this weekend of a Top Gun Sports-sanctioned Super Regional Batting Helmet Tournament. The Power’s rally featured a 12-run fourth inning and the team added five more in the fifth.
The Power beat Clinton 21-7 in game one on Sunday, but had lost on Saturday to drop to the loser’s bracket. The Power was down, but not out.
