Megan Elaine Hines, 22, of Maner Road, told authorities that her vehicle was stolen. That vehicle was involved in a chase with the North Carolina Highway Patrol on Sunday. When the chase ended, the driver jumped out and ran, police said.

The driver was later identified as Hines’ ex-husband and authors allege she knew he had her car.

Hines was arrested and placed in Richmond County Jail under a $500 secure bond.
