Police: 5 pounds of pot seized from city home

The Rockingham Police Department Vice/Narcotic Unit received information of drug activity at 726 Armistead St. in Rockingham.

Upon executing search warrant at that address officers seized five pounds of marijuana with an estimated value of $7,500 dollars.

Officers charged Howard Montreall Williams, of 217 Bryan Circle, Rockingham, with Possession with the Intent to sell and Deliver Marijuana and was placed in the Richmond County Jail with a $10,000 secured bond.

Assisting with the investigation was the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Southern Pines Police Department and the Fayetteville Police Department.

“I am really proud of the hard work that the law enforcement officers put into this investigation and their continued effort in getting these drugs off our streets,” Rockingham Police Chief Billy Kelly said in a news release.
