Associates at Perdue Farms’ Rockingham operation contributed $52,488.57 to the United Way of Richmond County. The campaign also includes a $4,771.69 grant funded by the Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Perdue Farms.

United Way is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to maximize the communities resources to improve the lives of all the members of the community. Through the combination of generous individual and business contributions, the United Way of Richmond County is able to support such agencies as American Red Cross, Back Pack Pals, Sandhills Children’s Center and others.

The Perdue campaign allowed associates to use a simple payroll deduction process to individually contribute to the United Way. Despite tough economic conditions, Perdue associates still managed to dig deep in their pockets to support their local community.

“We are happy to support the United Way of Richmond County,” said Lesley King, Complex HR Manager. “At Perdue, where teamwork is so important to our success, we recognize the importance of neighbors helping neighbors.”

Michelle Parrish, Executive Director of United Way of Richmond County stated “Perdue is one of our largest work place campaigns in Richmond County. We’re very thankful and appreciative to the Perdue team for participating with our campaign. The investment that Perdue associates make to our local United Way insures that our 17 partnering agencies and their program of work continues to touch those that are in need of assistance.”
