Obituary: Jim Webb

John Calvin “Jim” Webb, 81, of Ellerbe, N.C., passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.

Mr. Webb was born November 12, 1933 in Richmond County, a son of the late Henry Raymond and Bessie Jane Crouch Webb.

He was a member of Cartledge Creek Baptist Church where he had served on the kitchen committee. He was an avid hunter, loved gardening, spending time with his family and talking with friends at McDonald’s and Walmart.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Annie Mae Martin, Henry Webb, James “Toot” Webb, Mary Norton, Sarah Bowles, and Jesse” Hambone” Webb.

Surviving are his wife, Patsy Seagraves Webb of the home; sons, Calvin Lee Webb (Victoria) and Randy Dean Webb (Sandra), all of Rockingham; grandchildren, Brian Webb (Jackie), Daniel Webb (Cassi), Stephen Webb (Molly); great grandchildren, Tyler Webb (Kirsten), Mackenzie Webb, Alivia Webb, Briley Webb; great-great-grandson, Wyatt Webb; and numerous nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cartledge Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Lutz officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.

The family will see friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at Randy and Sandra’s home.
