Betty Harris

Betty Cox Harris, 78, of Rockingham, N.C., passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the Levine-Dickson Hospice in Huntersville, N.C.

Mrs. Harris was born March 20, 1937 in Anson County, a daughter of the late Noah E. and Addie Vaughn Cox.

She was a lifetime member of Community Church and had retired from textiles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Harris, daughters, Cheryl Phillips and Lynn Perkins, and brothers, Houston, Tillery and Bill Cox.

Surviving are her grandchildren, Amanda White of Rockingham, Kevin Phillips of Akron, Ohio, Nick Perkins of Rockingham, Danielle White of Rockingham; great-grandchildren, Joey White, Regan Phillips, Lauren Phillips, Spencer Phillips; sister Joyce Brown of Rockingham; half sisters, Ruby Vaughn and Faye Cox, both of Wadesboro and son in law, Al Phillips of Uniontown, Ohio.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Community Church with Rev. Chris Young and Rev. Phillip Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.

The family will see friends one  hour prior to the service Friday at Community Church.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s research.
