Obituary: Benjamin Harrison Nuttall

Mr. Benjamin Harrison Nuttall, 87, of 131 Hickory Street, Rockingham, N.C., died, Friday, March 27, 2015 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

He was born July 1, 1927, in Richmond County son of Reginald Garside Nuttall and Minnie Shephard Nuttall.

obitMr. Nuttall was the former owner of Plaza Texaco in Rockingham and attended Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ella West Nuttall; infant son; brothers, Alex and Doug Nuttall; sisters, Ethel Eaves, Estelle McCroskey and Annie Mae Richardson; and a grandchild, James Martin.

Survivors include his son, Rev. Donnie Nuttall and wife Monnie, with which he made his home; daughter, Dianne E. Martin of Rockingham; brother, R.G. Nuttall of Rockingham; sister, Betty Henry of Hamlet; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 31 at Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Webster officiating. Burial will follow at East Side Cemetery in Rockingham.
