After hit-and-run, Hamlet man faces drug charges

HAMLET — A 31-year-old Hamlet woman is facing a multitude of drug charges, DWI and leaving the scene of an accident after an alleged hit-and-run.

Hamlet_policeThe alleged series of events took place on Sunday, when Moran Valencia, of Faires Drive, left the scene of a hit-and-run that occurred in Rockingham. A Hamlet police officer found the vehicle Valencia was allegedly driving in a ditch on Highway 74.

Valencia was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver. he also was charged with maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or other place for use, storage or sale of controlled substances, possession of a stolen vehicle, DWI and for leaving the scene of an accident.

Valencia was ordered held on $40,000 secured bond and placed in the Richmond County Jail.
