ROCKINGHAM — A 56-year-old Rockingham man was charged in an alleged assault that took place on Feb. 6.
Richmond County sheriff’s deputies say Jerry Lee Hamilton, of McQueen Street, was arrested on warrants related to a domestic incident during which he allegedly kicked the door open and strangled the victim. The victim suffered minor injuries.
Hamilton was charged with breaking and entering, assault by strangulation and communicating threats. He is being held at the Richmond County Jail on a $50,000 secured bond.
