Lacy Lee Covington
Richmond County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Rockingham man on Thursday in connection with an alleged kidnapping and assault that took place on Wednesday.
Authorities say Lacy Lee Covington, 59, of Road Runner Road, would not let the victim leave and held her until someone called deputies. She was then released. The victim was treated for minor injuries.
Covington was charged with assault inflicting serious injury, second degree kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a weapon of mass destruction.
He was placed in Richmond County Jail under a $250,000 secured bond.
