ROCKINGHAM — Richmond County sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday arrested a 24-year-old Rockingham man in connection with a home burglary.
Deputies said Mark Elliott Rosberg, of Carolina Drive, broke into a home on Northam Road. He was arrested and charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and larceny of a firearm.
Rosberg was ordered held under a $5,000 secure bond and placed in Richmond County Jail.
A convicted felon, Rosberg was also charged with a felony probation violation by being a felon in possession of a firearm. He’s scheduled to appear on Jan. 26 in Richmond County District Court.
Rosberg is also due in District Court for a misdemeanor assault on a female, as well as misdemeanor charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, larceny and second degree trespassing. It was not immediately known if the charges are related.
Rosberg was convicted on Sept. 18, 2013 for possession of a firearm by a felon and larceny. He was given probation and a 36-month suspended sentence.
On Sept. 11, 2009, Rosberg was convicted on multiple felony counts of breaking and entering into vehicles. His sentence was suspended.
