Mrs. Peggy Jo Grooms Robinson Hodges, 79, of Hamlet, N.C., died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 at her home.
She was born May 1, 1935 in Scotland County, a daughter of the late John and Callie Chavis Grooms.

She is survived by daughters, Bennie Schropp (Lloyd) of Parnell, Iowa, Millie Robinson of Rockingham, Pam Brown (Ricky) of Hamlet, Toni Barcomb (Rick) of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Lisa Langley of Hamlet; grandchildren, Kristy, Chad, and Zach Schropp, Chris Robinson, (Natalie), Josh and Eric Brown, Tommy and Joey Barcomb, Justin and Steven Langley; great-grandchildren, Draven and Raylea Williams, Kaleb Schropp, Drew and Layla Robinson, Hailey Strickland, Honesty Langley, and Mason Hudgins; a number of nieces and nephews, and her companion, Jo Jo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ted, Barry, and Clyde Grooms; sister, Emma Sears, Levi Clark, and Melouise Grooms.
A service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday at Crossroads Ministries on Boyd Lake Road in Hamlet with Rev. Thad Pearson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
