Mrs. Geraldine McDonald Mauldin, 77, of Rockingham, N.C., went to be with her Savior, Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at Pruitt Health in Rockingham, following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Richmond County on Nov. 3, 1937, daughter of late Jesse G. and Penelope (Eppie) Blue McDonald.
She attended Rockingham schools and was a graduate of Hamlet Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for 43 years as a nurse, including Hamlet Hospital, Richmond Memorial Hospital and Moore Regional Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harris L. Mauldin; brother, Gene Harold McDonald; and sister, Mary Catherine Black.
Survivors include her stepdaughter, Joyce Wilkes (Tommy) of Hamlet; stepson, Mitchell Melton (Dot) of Vermont; grandchildren, Amy Webster (Roger), Jenny Hayes (William), and Terry and Eric Melton; great-grandchildren, Hannah Nelson, Jeremy Webster, William Hayes II, Jackson Webster, and Amelia and Jared Melton.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday at Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church.
The memorial service will begin at 4 p.m. with Pastor Roger Webster officiating.
