Obituary: Curtis Strong

Curtis “Chief” Strong, 73 of 110 3rd St., Hamlet, N.C., died Monday, Jan. 26, 2015 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

He was born March 13, 1941, in Robeson County, son of Ashbell Strong and Isienora Locklear.

“Chief’ was a truck driver by trade and attended Tabernacle Church.

obit_iconHe is survived by the love of his life, Elaine Huckabee, of the home; stepdaughters, Marie Polson Tucker (Leonard) of Kentucky, Hope Polson Blue (Jamie) of Hamlet and Odessa Polson Robinson (Stevie) of Hamlet; sons, Danny Curtis Strong of Kentucky and Daniel Strong of Aberdeen; brothers, Telden Strong of Maryland, Tommy Strong of Winston-Salem, James Earl Locklear of Maxton and Johnny Boy Locklear of Maxton; sister, Cearlean Strong of Hamlet; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harrington Funeral Home from 6-8:00 PM

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Abundant Life Church with Rev. John Prine and Rev. Joe Wilkes.

Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Strong family.
