Morrison sworn in as Hamlet patrol officer

HAMLET — Dustin Lee Trenton Morrison, of Rockingham, was sworn in on Dec. 31 as a patrol officer with the Hamlet Police Department.

Morrison graduated Basic Law Enforcement Training from Richmond Community College in October 2012 and previously worked with Scotland County Sheriff’s Office as a patrolman.

City Clerk Tammy Kirkley administered the oath of office while Police Chief Scott Waters held the Bible upon which Morrison made his pledge to serve and protect the city of Hamlet and the people who live within the city.
