Letter: Thanks to those who support Raven

To the editor:

I would like to express my sincerest appreciation for all your support and contributions for my daughter Raven LaJoy Newton towards her auditions in Orlando, Fla. She was blessed to have successful auditions which resulted in callbacks from various industry professionals throughout the nation.

letter_logoRaven is 11 years old and is a sixth-grader at Rockingham Middle School. Raven said that this was a dream come true. She also said that the sky is the limit and one of our favorite sayings is “We walk by faith and not by sight.” Thanks again to everyone who supported her dream.

Raven recently was the guest soloist at Pembroke University and at the 31st annual Humanitarian Awards banquet. Upcoming, she will be singing at 5 p.m. on Feb. 7 at St. Mary’s Holiness Church in Hamlet  and the NAACP Moral March at 9 a.m. Feb. 14 in downtown Raleigh.
