Staff report
For the second time this year, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office was seeking the public’s help in locating Donald Floyd Crowell.
The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons, however, has cancelled a Silver Alert for Crowell, 70, listed as a missing endangered man. The alert was cancelled shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday. No further details were immediately available.
Crowell is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment. He was last seen wearing a dark colored T-shirt, blue jeans black socks and loafers. He stands 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds and has brown and gray hair.
Crowell has access to a 2013 blue Nissan Titan truck with a North Carolina license plate CES 4082. He lives on Murdocksville Road in Carthage.
In July, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office issued a Silver Alert for Crowell after it was reported that he did not arrive at his intended destination. That alert indicated authorities believed there to be a “significant threat” to life or property. No such statement was made this time.
Anyone with information about Crowell should call the Moore County Sheriff’s Office at 910-947-2931.
