Claudia “Ann” Thompson Lyerly, 63, of 136 School St., Rockingham, N.C., passed from this life to go home and be with Jesus on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at her residence, surrounded by her loving husband and family.
She was born in Montgomery County on Oct. 10, 1951 daughter of Claude and Bennie (Teenie) Hill Thompson.
She was a member of Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir and being with her church family.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; step-son, Joseph R. Lyerly.
She is survived by her her loving husband Joseph A. Lyerly; daughters, Leslye (Keith) Cumber of Hamlet and Christina (Clint) Sanchez of Rock Hill, S.C.; step-son, Mark (Lesa) Lyerly of Chapin, S.C.; two sisters, Deborah (Pete) Abbott of Ellerbe and Pam Howard of Ellerbe; brothers, Terry Thompson of Ellerbe and Ken Thompson of Hamlet; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Kathy Gilliam.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27 at Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Webster officiating. Burial will follow at Living Waters Church Cemetery, Loch Haven Road, Rockingham.
Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Lyerly family.
