Beverly Ann Price, daughter of the late Harry Charlie Price and Hattie Made Price, was born on June 20, 1943. She exchanged time for eternity on Dec. 11, 2014 at the Reid Heart Center in Pinehurst, N.C.

Beverly was educated in the public schools of Brunswick County, N.C., and attended the BCT Training School in Southport. She had the distinction of being the first black female majorette and drum major in North Carolina.
She held numerous jobs, including work with Burns Security at CP&L, manager at The Cheese Haus with her dear friend and owner, the late Kenneth Warden. Upon moving to Rockingham to be closer to her loving family, she continued her work as a private duty caregiver for the Eddington and Wilson families.
Beverly was married to James E. Clemmons Sr. and to this union they welcomed into the world: Anita Louise Clemmons (David Woods) of Leland, N.C., James Edward Clemmons Jr. (Patricia) of Rockingham, Gregory Clemmons (Johniecia) of Jacksonville, Fla., and Genice Rochelle Jackson (Isaac) of Huntersville; special daughters, Valerie Foster of Philadelphia, Pa., Reniece L. Hogan of Atlanta, Ga., Gracie Williams of Vass; and special sons, Ronald Tillman, Daryl Mason and Bruce Stanback of Rockingham.
Beverly was a member of the Pearl Of Truth Tent, Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Southport, and later joined the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Rockingham.
She was preceded in death by: brothers Walter Price, Quilla Price, Carnell Price, Carlton Price and Ernest Price; sisters Vashti Jordan, Eva Knight and Arabella Davis; grandson, Hakim S. Clemmons; and mother-in-law and special friend Inez Adams.
In addition to her beloved children, she leaves to cherish fond memories: two sisters, Estelle Caine, of Michigan, and Bessie Hinton, of New York; one brother, Harry Dee Price, of Florida; 11 grandchildren, Tyneisha Nicole Sinclair (Ryan), Nasir S. Clemmons (Ruby), Tenisha Clemmons, Gregory Clemmons Jr., James Edward Clemmons III, Alese Monique Clemmons, Jordan Clemmons, Nyla Je’nice Jackson, Christopher Isaac Jackson and Gabriel Thomas Jackson; nine great-grandchildren: Tyrielle Simone Brown, Caniyah N. Clemmons, Aubriana I. Clemmons, Tajanae Shanties Campbell, Nasir M. Clemmons, Emmanuel Clemmons, Taylor Sharee Sinclair and Nykeem A. Clemmons; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Beverly also had a very special relationship with many individuals, including: Dianne Davis, Cheryl Davis and Mercedes Knight, and nephew, Dan E. Davis Jr.; special friends Flora Barrow, Occia Moody, Louise McLaughlin, Maggie Green; and a very special friends, Alfred Bellamy.
Family will receive friends and visitors from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 at Nelson Funeral Home, Rockingham.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14 at the International Longshoremen’s Association Hall, Southport, with the Rev. Brian Monroe officiating.
