Two airlifted after overnight truck crash

ELLERBE — Two people were airlifted from the scene of a one-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on Sandhill Game Management Road.

Emergency personnel from Northside Volunteer Fire Department, Ellerbe Rescue Squad, FirstHealth EMS and the North Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a moving truck that had crashed into some trees in the front yard of a Richmond County resident. The incident occurred between midnight and 1 a.m. on a country road near Camp Millstone.

The truck was a rental; it belonged to DC Movers LLC, of Raleigh.

The state Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation.
