Student club collecting donations for homeless

Competitive drive runs through Nov. 19

Members of the Fellowship of Christian Students at Richmond Senior High School are helping with a new project called “Community Involvement Program.”

Raiders_logoThey will be collecting donations to help with the needs of our own community members right here in Richmond County. Collections will be taken to places like the Soup Kitchen in Hamlet, The Richmond County Rescue Mission and the Place of Grace tent ministry in East Rockingham, where local residents are actually homeless and living in tents.

This is a competition between second block classes. Donations will be collected now through Nov. 19. The prize for the class who collects the most will receive a special recognition and prize to be announced at a later time.

Boxes will be placed in all second block classes including a list of items we need to collect such as: Socks for men and women, personal hygiene items, toiletries, and canned food.
