Obituary: Jimmie Farris

flagMr. Jimmie Farris, 77, of 137 Champ Terry Road, Hamlet, N.C., died, Friday, Nov. 7, 2014 at his residence.

He was born July 28, 1937 in Bennettsville, S.C., son of Jack Farris and Mary Hamilton Farris.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Farris was preceded in death by daughter, Angela Joann Carter; and his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby Jean Farris of the home; daughters, Cindy Watson of Maryland and Tina Maxey of Florida; sons, “Bo” Jimmy Atherton of Las Vegas and Gene Albert Atherton of Tennessee and Jimmie Chris Farris of the home; sister, Lucille Farris of Bishopville, S.C.; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 at Harrington Funeral Home.

The Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12 at Harrington Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Hawks officiating. Burial will follow at Mary Love Cemetery.

Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Farris family.
