Letter: Norman Fest a big success

To the editor:

Norman Fest weekend was a big success, a lot of new faces, which we like, some had never been to the town, along with the die-hards.

letter_logoThe car show had over 30 participants, thank’s to Stacey Allen and friends, bigger than last year, we had more people, this year, and we know more would had showed up, but due to the heat and chance of rain, kept them away.

Rock Star Magic Show was well received, Chris and Neal put on a fantastic show, some of us were amazed at how they performed — ask our Town Clerk.

Music, food and craft vendors were at their best also,Wayward Reason enjoys coming to Norman Fest, good group of guys, also The Sand Band, everyone’s favorite, with the addition of Albert Everette sitting in, due to the rain cut them short.

Thank’s goes out to our NC Forest Service who brought Smokey Bear. Smokey turned 70 years old in August.

And the people who make this festival safe to their best of ability, I would like to give a big “Thank You” to the fire and rescue, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and also the Richmond County.

The Norman Fest Committee comes together each year to plan for that weekend, so l would also like to thank Kim, Bridget, Glenda, Cynthia, Dena, Kathy, plus Tom and Sam.

Our Norman Fest weekend could not exist if not for our sponsors: Ellerbe Telephine and Internet, Richmond County Tourism, Pee Dee Electric, Coletrane Signs, G 104, Allen Bro. Timber, Duke Energy, 770 Big Wave Radio, The Pee Dee Post and so many more.
