No injuries were reported at the structure, located in the 100 block of Central Avenue behind the school, officials said. Firefighters from East Rockingham and Cordova Fire and Rescue responded to the scene immediately after the 8:33 a.m. call for emergency services.

Investigators with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office also responded. An investigator said it was too early to determine the cause of the fire. However, one firefighter said there was no power to the structure and it appeared as if it was in the process of being renovated.
