HAMLET — The drivers of two vehicles involved in an early Monday morning wreck south of Hamlet were transported by helicopter for further medical treatment.

The names and conditions of the drivers involved in the collision, which occurred on state Route 177 north of Old Wix Road, were not immediately available.
Troopers with the North Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the incident.
