Rev. Michael Douglas Stirk, 67, of Rockingham, N.C., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014 at his home.
Rev. Stirk was born April 5, 1947 in Richmond County a son of Bennie Sue Mathison Stirk and the late Doug Stirk.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Sowders Stirk of the home; sons, Chris Stirk and Danny Stirk, both of Rockingham; grandchildren, Hunter Stirk and Chasity Mixon; great grandchild, Kaleah Jade Brigman; mother, Bennie Sue Stirk of Rockingham; and sisters, Cindy Stirk of Rockingham and Dawn Cockman of Wilmington.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Wilkerson officiating. Interment will follow in Bear Branch Cemetery.
The family will see friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Baptist Church and at other times at the home.
