Meals on Wheels seeks volunteers

Staff report

Richmond County Aging Services “is in great need” of volunteers for its Meals On Wheels Program.

county_logoThrough such programs, seniors who could not or would not otherwise eat properly are provided with services that help them live a healthy and enjoyable life.

Volunteers are the backbone of the Meals on Wheels program.  Meals on Wheels volunteers do more than drive from door to door, they also help prepare and package the meals to be delivered.

Many delivery volunteers take a little time with each senior to visit and provide much needed conversation.

Whether you have only a few hours one day per week or can volunteer every day, your assistance is needed.
