Staff report

A tractor-trailer that became stuck in the median along U.S. Route 220 at Highway Business 74 in Rockingham early Tuesday afternoon helped to slow lunchtime traffic in the area.

The Post was alerted to the issue by reader G.S. at about 12:40 p.m.

Rockingham Police Department officers responded to assist with traffic control with the ARD Trucking driver and truck, with Tennessee tags, maneuvered free.

Officers talked with the driver after he parked on Greene Street near Caroline Street. It’s unknown at time of publication if the driver was cited for any potential infraction.
