Stolen gold ring recovered

Richmond County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 22-year-old Rockingham man of breaking into a neighbor’s home on Ledbetter Road and stealing a gold ring.
Police said Alex Wade Kirk broke into a home on July 21 and later sold the stolen ring at a local business. The ring was recovered.
Kirk was arrested July 25 and charged with felony counts of breaking and entering, larceny after the breaking and entering and obtaining property by false pretense.
Kirk is currently confined at the Richmond County Jail, held on a $17,000 secure bond. He is scheduled to appear in Richmond County District Court on related charges on Aug. 19 and Aug. 21. He also is scheduled to appear in court on a number of unrelated charges later this month.
