Details are scarce less than 12 hours an arrest warrant was executed in an early Monday morning shooting of a Cordova man.

Richmond County sheriff’s deputies have arrested Robert David Erby II, 40, of Jason Street, Cordova, in the shooting that occurred shortly after 3 a.m. The victim is Michael Cain, 49, also of Cordova.

Deputies arrested Erby approximately six hours after the shooting, in which a source indicates Cain was shot between eight and 10 times. A Sheriff’s Office news release indicates the shooting occurred when the two men argued, after which Erby retrieved a gun and shot Cain.

Cain’s body is scheduled to be taken to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office on Tuesday for an autopsy.

According to the automated Richmond County Jail inmate information system, Erby is being confined at the Richmond County Jail without bond. He is scheduled to appear in Richmond County District Court at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 4.

Details are scarce? Not from what I’ve read in other news stories posted on facebook. Your first statement seems like your trying to throw the Sheriff’s Dept under the bus.

I’m sorry you reached a false conclusion, but we make no accusations against the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office. The folks there were more than helpful in providing everything they could.
