Obituary: Max Barnes

HIGH POINT, N.C. — Mr. John Max Barnes, 82, died Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Hospice Home at High Point.

He was born on May 8, 1932 in Randolph County to John Henry Barnes and Marinda Jane Harris Barnes.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Susan Mitchell, Rev. Roger Weisner, and Rev. Richard Huskins officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Mr. Barnes will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the visitation.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Home at High Point, 1801 Westchester Dr. High Point, NC 27262.
